Our Lady Of The Olives
Country :
Year : 1319
Monte Oliveto is a sanctuary in Tuscany, the cradle of the Benedictine Congregation of St. Mary of Mount Olivet, founded in 1319 by Blessed Bernard Tolomei.
He and his companions chose the rule of St. Benedict on the advice of a Bishop, Guy of Arezzo. It is said the bishop had a dream in which Our Lady told him to give the Benedictine rule and a white habit to some persons who at the time were unknown to him.
The sanctity of these monks soon drew people to the shrine and Our Lady rewarded them by bestowing blessings and graces, as well as miraculous cures upon her clients.
